Playing on the iconic phrase ‘may the force be with you’, May 4th is undoubtedly the most important day on the calendar for Star Wars fanatics! Every year on this special day, fans of this billion-pound franchise come together to share their enthusiasm for the epic space saga, and this year, thanks to Jay, Hog Roast Kingswinford was invited to join in the fun!
Having been a fan of this pop culture phenomenon since childhood, our client, Jay, had decided to organise a Star Wars-themed party for his group of friends and acquaintances who together form members of a cosplay group in the area.
Jay’s vision for the event was a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of drinks, great food and entertainment to keep the guests in high spirits. So, he hired a room in a popular event venue, a DJ for the night and asked Hog Roast Kingswinford to serve our Southern Slow Roast Menu.
Our team was excited to take part in this event and made certain to arrive at the venue long before any of the guests did. Thankfully, the venue owners allowed us to set up our equipment early, meaning the food was cooked to perfection by the time the event kicked off at 7pm.
As the guests flooded through the doors, each one wearing an impressive costume, they were immediately taken in by the aromas of the food. BBQ pork butt, Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens, fall-off-the-bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs, grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers and mixed fries were laid out in chafing dishes along the back wall of the venue, alongside bowls of Greek salad, coleslaw and gluten-free rolls.
In between dancing, drinking and catching up with friends, the guests happily indulged in Hog Roast Kingswinford’s glorious food, which offered something for every palate. The range of flavours also allowed guests the opportunity to step out of their culinary comfort zones for a change, which saw the braver guests have a go at trying our Cajun hot pepper sauce, which, trust us, isn’t for the faint-hearted!
Jay was over the moon with how well the event went and has already expressed his desire to hire us next time an event comes up in his cosplay circle!
