When it comes to the ideal weather for a wedding you probably can’t ask for much better than a heatwave – especially when your wedding is already all booked up in an excellent location with access to incredible green grounds wherein you can take the party out into the sun with ease. That was the case for Jeannie and Brian’s wedding this past week where catering was provided by Hog Roast Hopwood. The new Mr and Mrs Cox were married out of a local chapel near by and then came on over to the hotel where guests were waiting for the reception.
With the country gripped by a sudden summer heatwave, it only made sense to us and the hotel organisers to make use of the incredible grounds and weather. Taking full advantage of the weather, we quickly coordinated with the Jeannie and Brian and the hotel staff to be able conduct our reception drinks and canapes service outside. Just the kind of on-the-fly service that you can expect from Hog Roast Hopwood as we never settle for the safe but dull solutions!
Our canapes are freshly made light bites that are fortunately just exactly ideal for enjoying out in the sun with a glass of bubbly. Moving out under a marquee tent on the hotel gardens our staff rotated through the grounds with platters of our freshly made light bites. An excellent light entrée to help warm up the event (not that it particularly need it in the midst of a heatwave!) before guests then returned indoors to the grand dining hall set up for wedding party speeches and then the ensuing buffet prepared and served by the Hog Roast Hopwood team. For the buffet there were two main choices of beef or hog roast, or a BBQ pulled jackfruit veggie alternative, all to be served with roasted baby new potatoes, homemade coleslaw, seasonal mixed veggies, and a buffalo and mozzarella salad.
After the buffet we served desserts and then were out the door and nicely packed and cleaned up as if we had never even been there – aside from a few hundred satisfied stomachs and happy smiles!
