For Sue’s big day, she has always planned on enjoying a traditional ceremony at her family’s church, followed by a beautiful reception. For the reception, she has hired the function room at a nearby hotel, which is an elegant location for 120 guests to gather. For the catering, she is wanting a formal meal for 20 guests, which will take place directly after the ceremony and before the evening guests arrive. Our formal dining menu is ideal for this occasion, along with a meat-free option for the main course.
Our formal dining menu begins with a delicious starter, which will include a homemade soup of the day served with fresh bread and butter. This is a simple yet elegant way to start the meal and is always a favourite amongst guests. Following the starter, we will be serving a classic hog-roast for the main meal, with BBQ pulled jackfruit for vegetarian guests. The hog will be served with all of the trimmings, including roasted seasonal vegetables, baby new potatoes, sage and onion stuffing, crispy crackling, and homemade gravy. This will create a filling main meal with plenty of dishes to choose from and enough to satisfy all 20 guests. To finish the menu, the Hog Roast Gilbertstone team will be serving profiteroles and summer pudding, accompanied by English cream, seasonal berries, and fresh tea and coffee. Our desserts always look as good as they taste and ending the menu with a hot drink is a great way to ease into the rest of the celebrations!
